RE: Ok to run shore power without battery?

My guess is your battery is internally shorted. I would put a new battery in the coach. The battery acts as a "shock absorber" for the converter, stabilizing the output & giving the converter a stable voltage reference.

RE: One gas tank for fuel station and an onan generator

From what I remember with the Forest River products is they had one tank that was for both the genset and fuel station. One pump- a large one supplied the fuel for the ATVs or whatever vehicle you were refueling. The genset had its own fuel pump that pulled fuel from the tank.

RE: RV park in Las Vegas

Oasis is it for us. 24 hour gated security. Good location, close enough to the strip without having to deal with strip traffic. Groceries and other necessities nearby.

RE: Fifth Wheel Tag Renewal

Here in NV they base registration fees on the MSRP of the RV, even if you paid much less. I think CA does the same sort of shenanigans.

RE: full wall slideout issue - maybe

As been said, your coach was "racked", try not to do that in the future. It doesn't take a lot to rack or twist an RV & they generally spring back into square once the twist is released.

RE: How important is 90 degree turning?

What will "get you" is if you are turning while the truck is going up a slight grade while the trailer is facing down. Think of pulling out of a steep driveway while turning to enter a lane of travel. Same thing if you are cutting it sharp while backing into your RV space next to your house- up a 8% grade.

RE: WTH ! ! ! Tires

Better you found it now rather than 250 miles from nowhere. Besides 5 years, its time to replace 'em anyway.

RE: F150 5.0 V8 or V6 Twin Turbo

I had an '11 F150 5.0, I pulled a car trailer hauling a Mustang, as well as a 21' TT. It pulled both with power to spare and delivered decent MPG, mid 9's-10. We had zero problems with the truck over 100K miles, traded it for a 6.7 F250 when we got a larger RV. While the V6 delivers lots of power, there seems to be a lot of talk regarding turbo longevity and of course the infamous cam phasers, both of which are greatly affected by how often the oil was changed, so if any candidates don't have solid maintenance records, I would pass.

RE: Fifth wheel Jerking with gas truck... not as noticeable

Sounds like it could also be a driveline shudder. Some trucks are more prone to it than others, depending on driveline type, wheelbase etc. They are fine at normal ride height until a load is applied and it changes the u-joint angles enough to create a shudder felt on accel from a stop. I had a similar issue but with a Ford, actually a couple of Fords (all LB CC DRW) It was finally determined to be just that driveline shudder / driveline wrap, most likely due to the carrier bearing being "soft" and allowing the driveline to whip around, as CC, LB has a long driveline. Were all your trucks the same? CC/LB..ETC? Do you know any Ford or Dodge owners? Perhaps a test tow with a non GM is in order.

RE: New travel trailer Gulfstream Conquest 323tbr

Having owned two 5.4 Fords, I would avoid them, as they will struggle pulling this rig. 6.2 would be a better choice.

RE: Travel trailer blueprint

There is usually a reason why the trailer didn't come with a ladder, so make sure the roof can support you. Also there may not be much in the wall to attach a ladder to.

RE: May have towed too much weight

It's not just weight, don't overlook wind resistance. If you have a 10 MPH headwind, the load on the TV is increased substantially.
